Candlenut / Aleurites Moluccanus

Kemiri or Candlenut (Aleurites Moluccanus) fruit is coated with flammable oil just like a wax and can be burnt like a candle (hence the name). Also known as the Kukui nut, Kemiri appears to look like a macadamia nut and is used extensively in Indonesia and SoutheastAsia in cooking (as a thickening agent), traditional medicine and in beauty treatments. It has many mineral deposits including phosphorus, calcium, potassium, and magnesium, and is sought after as a traditional hair stimulant, overcoming hair loss and dullness, and for other beauty treatments.
